Wanted - Carl Zeiss (Hasselblad V system, silver) Planar F2.8 80mm Synchro Compur for parts

I am in need of an aperture setting ring for the above lens, my lens is optically and mechanically fine, but the numbers have rubbed off the ring. If you have one in bad condition, but with a good ring, let me know, I may be interested... Thanks.

No, just painted. It's the silver version, I think the later, black ones, may have been engraved.

Cant help! I'm currently browsing ebay looking for the same or similar lens!  I recently got a Hasselblad which came with 2 len's  I've a 40mm which is too short and a 150mm which is too long for indoor full length shots.  The 80mm's are still pricely to buy on their own! so gonna have to wait a little longer until my finances recover.   Loving it so far though!

I am assuming that it has click stops.. If so with a dremel engraving tool you could mark a dot on each stop. You can then place some enamel paint with a small brush into the dot, wiping off excess with a tissue. Marking say f8 in red would help you quickly find other f-stops....

Just a suggestion!

I'm destined to ruin it if I do that! I think best to use letter-a-set and varnish over the top. Will still look bodged though, so will try to find a part if I can.

I've loved the camera.

If you have to replace that part, then that work part will end up in the box in the attic, unused and unloved. But I very much doubt you will be able to get a replacement part.

My attitude is since the part is destined for a shoebox and you bodge it, then no problem. Better than it not being functional!

Yes letraset could work... even letraset dots for most of the aperture range....

Cannot believe they skimped on engraving and just put on a transfer

Guy on this forum is suggesting jewellers' stamps....

Yeah I might get to that. Am hoping for a part from an otherwise bust lens though.
