We gave up drinking during Dry January a few years ago. We were likely on the road to having a serious drinking problem due to the frequency and amount being consumed.
It has been a very different life without alcohol I certainly don’t miss the hangovers.
Well done for taking that first step and for maintaining your sobriety

I have a friend who has been sober 30+ years and is an AA leader and sponsor. It is really tough I am sure. I used to have a drink every day but now just Weekend evenings at the pub and I don't have alcohol in the house

Evening all,
I've been out of The Priory Hospital from the Addiction Therapy Programme since early July and I have now been sober for 93 days, I just wondered if any fellow AA goers around me are photographers, models or other creatives. Would love to meet, chat etc now that my world has opened up.
Best wishes
Phill
I came across your post in the forums and wanted to say a massive well-done 🌹
As a child of an alcoholic (with a brutal childhood) and then overcoming my own demons in my 20s, I'm proud of you.
Keep going and never look back! Your best life and the best version of yourself is awaiting you.

Congratulations!
I also agree with what Helen Diaz said.
It takes more bravery than people may think to realise you have an addiction and do something about it!
Tomorrow is another day. Keep looking and walking forward, not back!
My very best wishes.
Mark.

Thank you all for your support and own achievements ( IanClive ) Mark21 every day is a step closer to a newer and better life. Never thought I would be able to be happy in my own skin, which I haven’t for…well ever!
It’s rare occasions when posts are so caring and supportive, I thank the Purpleport collective for this. It helps me to continue in a daily battle against a strong disease.
Love to you all and I hope that your days are as peaceful and content as mine are now 🙏❤️

Addiction is a terrible disease; I can't imagine how scary it must be to feel that out of control. I don't know you but I'm proud of you; that's an incredible achievement!

Well done and keep going. Your body will appreciate it.
It has to be very hard when working in the wine industry.
Alcohol free options should be more available.
