Just watched Lee, about the model and war photographer Lee Miller. Amazing film, and will definitely be exploring her work. Of course makes me question the trite nature of my work, but maybe provide some inspiration and more importantly motivation.

It’s strong stuff. A long labour of love for Winslet, partly self-funded, and founded on years of research by Miller’s son. There’s a lot about Miller on YouTube. BBC did a docu’ about her too off the back of her son’s biography entitled The Lives of Lee Miller.

Fantastic film.  I hope it gets an Oscar nod for best film and best actress.  I was just stunned by the end and just sat for a few minutes.

I was aware of her work and seen some talks by her son and granddaughter.  And a TV documentary a few years ago.

My favourite shot is the girls with fire watcher masks.  Glad they recreated it in the film.

An amazing women, amazing life and amazing work.

If your in Sussex or nearby I can highly recommend visiting Farley's Farm - the home she shared with Roland Penrose and their son Anthony., who is always happy to chat with visitors. The guided tour goes into a lot of detail about her life as a model, muse, photographer and cook - an incredible woman. I also attended a surrealist photography workshop at the farm-  which inspired me to add a "Surrealist" Album on here.

I saw the film a couple of weeks ago at a small local cinema, followed by a talk and Q&A with her son. It's on Sky now so will be watching it again more than once :)

I agree Jon. I saw the movie a few weeks ago in Horsham and was very impressed. Love Kate Winslet's work and the story was very effectively told. It was very moving.

Thanks AndyWilson for informing me about Farley's House. I now plan to pay it a vist next year when it re-opens for the 2025 season.

I've been aware of her work for ages & visited an exhibition about her at the Imperial war museum.

A friend of mine (a photographer & one time ww2 reenactor) is close friends with Tony Penrose & actually provided some props for the film. The boots on Hitler's bathmat belong to him.
