Should I Start My Own "Arty" YouTube Channel?

The I’m a serious content creator’ mindset, (with all that cringey pandering, PLEASE LIKE this video, & SUBSCRIBE to my channel’ & ‘Buy me a coffee’, coloured strip lights in the background, vacuous background music playing whilst you’re talking.) 😜

Alas the please-like-and-subscribe stuff is more or less unavoidable at some level; people do need reminding to do this and it does have a benefit in terms of visibility.

The "buy me a coffee" thing is probably ultimately necessary for anyone successful who is not a retiree at least, simply because good videos end up costing in time and materials.

But I do agree a lot of the "youtube look" is unnecessary when you consider how much great art content is made very simply with a couple of static cameras. But then we are British people of an age where there was quite a lot of "slow TV", eh? Tony Hart, Fred Dibnah, The Sky At Night, Open University...

There are so many AI videos of beautiful digital renderred models on youtube lately and it had plenty of hits. Seems nobody cared they arent real. I consider AI a threat to the modelling industry but I hope I'm wrong but if people are making money without needing to hire models, studios and locations, can now do this at home.

Go for it, I love watching How To videos on things like painting. Not always to copy along but because its satisfying to watch the process and see how its done, to know what steps happen first before the final reveal of something beautiful. Then when you see other paintings in galleries you can imagine the steps taken to get there also and it makes it all more interesting.

It would be lovely also for your family to be able to watch and hear your voice again when you are gone too, and for your videos to teach family members perhaps not even born yet !
