Can anyone recommend a website with lighting examples?

What I'm looking for is something that shows an image but then a diagram at the side showing placement of lights and settings or BTS shots that show the lighting on the image

I thought strobist used to show that but the website is now archived with all diagrams gone

There's a really cool program that does this - and you can tweak them in real time. Someone will remember what it is called.

It's a few years old now but the book "Lighting the Nude: Top Professionals Share Their Lighting Secrets" does exactly that.

There is another one though isn't there!? Can't remember the name. There's also a little website version that just does head/shoulders.

set.a.light is clearly the most advanced one though.

ISO 1200 Magazine might help you iso1200.com Website They often have set up and BTS then show the final result. Sometimes they have diagrams too.
You might also check their Instagram page. iso1200magazine Instagram page.

I have it. My favourite studio setup (the moody top lit one) comes straight from it. For that alone it was worth the purchase price many times over.

Search You-tube for Chris knight. His videos are long but I think they are worth the time.

Take a look at early episodes of Next Top Model TV series on early series you can see the way the modifiers are used along with reflectors, flags etc and the results they give. They stopped showing this side of the studio in later episodes, I personally found them extremely helpful and the images captured whilst tethered. They took a more fix it in edit approach in the later series and applied various composite layers etc for final imagery. Such a lot of useful info across the early cycles of the shows helpful with model photography. Just my personal view of the shows, sadly they changed format and became useless later on. Some of it is also well out of date now, in many respects but worth a watch as it focuses on model photography in parts. My 2p.

Lyndsay Adler's workshops/books/recipes are very good for this and cover a wide variety of styles. Obviously they cost, but you can find some in various jack sparrow locations if you know where to look.

Try https://www.sylights.com/

Anyone can upload diagrams, has thousands of examples.

Tbh most are fairly unhelpful 'cos the results are often retouched to hell & take no account of the effects of the space that the lights were in.

The original Next Top Model, Tyra Banks and Ken Mok production with Jay Manuel, Nigel Barker etc 2003 -2018 early to mid cycle stuff shows lighting and bts best I reckon. It's a long time since I last watched it...one of the reasons I started using parabolic reflectors 14 yrs ago.
