Models - a nice upbeat post about models!

Thanks for all your comments, folks. Much appreciated. 

It was, perhaps, a tad misleading of me to single out two particular models. Although I hold them both in very high regard, as several of you have said - and as my own experiences have taught me - the majority of models in here are totally reliable, hard-working, professionally-minded and a pleasure to work with. 

I love this hobby! 

I have only worked with fourteen models so far but they have all been quite wonderful!🤩🤩 As has been mentioned, it’s an absolute joy to work with such lovely and friendly people who are not only professional but hugely creative and dedicated to getting great results. I have already had second shoots with several of the models I have worked with in the past year and fully expect to continue with that trend! Thanks Orson for initiating this welcome injection of positivity!👍🙏🤩

I love it! i didn't have any real bad experience and keep seeing brave women following my stupid ideas and giving their best to get the shot done. I shoot mostly outdoors and sometimes really absurd conditions. I never had any model let me down, on the contrary, they kept inspiring me to look for more stupid ideas. I am forever grateful!

Orson Carter thank you so much for such a kind and uplifting post, it was a pleasure finally meeting and working with you 😊 Goes without saying, you got so many fantastic shots!

May I echo the positive notes expressed by Orson and others on here. I have enjoyed 451 shoots with 173 delightful models (I'm just the sort of person who likes admin stats) and almost without exception they have be lovely.

Two of them I have worked with over 30 times - they must be resilient! I can only think of one model who twice had me waiting at Temple Meads Station and failed to turn up - needless to say she is not among the stats!

It is such a joy to have met so many wonderful models - shoots are then, for the most part, fun and creative.

I have very rarely had a poor experience with models.  Usually they go above and beyond.

One great experience I remember involved a model from Ipswich who had driven 2.5 hours to get to me in terrible weather.  I apologised for having had her drive all that way.  “Don’t worry” she said “Im used to it.  Everywhere is at least 2.5 hours from Ipswich”.  Collapse of stout parties ensued.

Another exceptional one involved a model turning up 2 hours late in a flatbed truck with her bashed car on the back.  She’d rolled it into a ditch.  Scrambled out, called the truck and insisted she complete the shoot.  And she was great.  We shot together regularly till she retired into motherhood.

What an amazing story, Orson. Thanks for sharing! I've worked with about 30 models so far and my experience has been absolutely fantastic. I often think about the challenges they face, with lots of travel and preparation time, working with photographers that might be great people, but may as well be creeps. So much respect I have, and some of the models I've met have had a great impact on my life. My biggest gratitude and warmest respect to all the lovely models out there!

This is so lovely to hear Orson, thanks for sharing these experiences. This is what distinguishes professional models from... well, not so professional models. :)

It is also quite interesting that a model is prepared to do this sort of journey to work with a photographer.

There must be some reason!
