What does everyone use to produce videos now? I'm thinking TikTok/Reels rather than YouTube based stuff. I'm wanting short promo video stuff for instagram. Please give me your suggestions including specs if you have any!

I use my Samsung Galaxy S10 phone on a DJI Osmo Mobile 6 gimbal.
You're probably just good off using you're phone, some nice continous lighting and Capcut editor on your phone if it's just super short promo stuff.
There's a ton of small continous LED lighting out there that's affordable and easy to use. As long as you can figure out interesting transitions i find that that's 60% of the way.
I used to use a DJI osmo pocket (1st gen, got it when it 1st came out) which is good for some BST stuff (especially motion timelapses)
So maybe the current version (gen 3) would be something to look at.
Capture:variety of HD cameras, including Micro 4/3, security cams, and my Ulefone ruggedised mobile.
Processing/transcoding: FFMpeg.
Editing/splicing/titles: KDE Kdenlive.
Tiktok prefers their in house editing app which is Capcut and I personally find this the easiest to use. Gives me circa 2009 windows movie maker vibes with the filters and transitions!

The in-house editors for both IG and Tiktok aren't great. But fine to do things quickly/simply.
Feel video is great for transparency of a shoot.
I work in social media, I literally just use an iPhone 14 pro for filming, sometimes a gimbal and then I edit on CapCut.
I use a Panasonic hand held 4k camera when I'm doing proper video
For social media any decent phone or as already suggested a DJI osmo pocket would serve you well.
Pocket 3 easiest if you don't need any great optical zoom otherwise zv e10, a7cR a7Riv rs3 gimbal.
For TikTok just use Capcut. It'll do everything you need and is essentially the 'standard' software for most TikToky content

Editing is either FCPX or Davinci or external editors.
Me: I got the canon and my phone thank you very much. And the drones are mine lol
