Today I had a first-time shoot with a first-time model (as in has never before modeled) that I recruited from a tea shop I frequent. It was my first time recruiting off the street like that as well, with no idea of the person's background or capabilities, so I wasn't really sure how things would go. We get set up, do the obligatory small talk, and have this dialogue:
Her: I hope I won't be disappointing. I don't really have any idea of what I'm doing or how to pose.
Me: Not to worry, we can walk through the basics. Do you have any movement training?
Her: No. Mostly just playing Ultimate Frisbee.
Me: No problem-
Her: Unless dance counts.
Me: ... It does.
Her: Oh, ok, because I did mostly ballet and contemporary dance for almost all my life, until my ankle injury.
Me: Can you show me?
Her:
Me: Oh we're going to be just fine.
