Images showing models with guns..

It's not something I'm into, I don't really have an opinion on it or aversion to others doing it, free will, there are a number of photographic styles that I probably wouldn't want to shoot.

Guns not held properly, vintage cameras held unconvincingly, does it really matter?
All sorts of props are used regularly & they're rarely used in a "documentary" style. You may as well complain about uniforms portrayed wrongly, outfits that look like fancy dress or a thousand other things. Most art nudes with a vase or urn don't look as if they're really flower arranging or collecting water.
Lighten up, it's all just trying to add a little visual interest whether it's to your taste or not.

I have often thought about shooting a model with a gun... usually when they've scoffed all the custard creams.
I do have some prop guns, but haven't used them yet as I keep thinking I'll end up with clichéd/tacky/naff results. Maybe I could combine it with the nudes that I probably shouldn't shoot!

I have used real shotgun and air rifle in a shoot which was for a gun club calander This was done under the strict supervision of a senior club member and no live amunition was anywhere near the shoot I dont see any problem as long as no one is in any danger and the shoot is properly controlled

I imagine that full-frontal, genital-focused female nudity has caused more long-term and serious 'issues' than the occasional female model holding a firearm - real or otherwise.
* Full Disclosure: I have one of the latter in my PP Portfolio.

Out of interest, would those concerned be more or less worried if it was a male model holding the weapon instead?

I'm not keen on pictures of models - or anyone who is not in authority - with guns, but I admit to being anti-firearm. That's even more so so since I was shot at. (The guy missed me, but my truck needed a new windscreen and two new tyres.)

I’ve owned firearms most of my life.
Not keen on photos with them.
They are a tool for killing people or animals. Not something to be glamourised.
Also from a background where accidentally pointing a gun at someone had serious consequences for the person doing it. Big difference from the USA.

People tend to create what inspires them, and a lot of that inspiration comes from TV, cinema, and the internet. Over the years, I’ve been asked to do countless Halloween shoots and provided makeup for many Halloween-style shoots, but I don’t have any of it in my portfolio—that’s just my personal choice. With guns and horror being so idolized on TV, it’s hard not to be influenced by certain things.
For instance, the upcoming Crow movie got me thinking about doing a makeup shoot inspired by it because I love the makeup style, similar to how I admire the makeup in some of the older Joker movies. It’s a bit dark, but done right, it could be a fantastic addition to my photography and makeup portfolios.
As long as guns, knives, and similar elements are idolized in media—whether TV, movies, or cartoons—people will naturally want to incorporate them into their artwork. That's just a fact of life
I personally believe PurplePort is very open to most types of photography. It allows people to shoot anything that inspires them. To be honest, I’m not really keen on seeing shots focused solely on genitalia, but some people are, and so they create it. I do appreciate nudity in photography, but like everyone, I have my own boundaries on what I find enjoyable to look at. Others have their own preferences, and that’s perfectly fine. I just scroll past what doesn’t appeal to me—it's that simple.
P.S. Not a photographer in the world would turn down the chance to create a James Bond or John Wick cover if the opportunity arose, and no model would pass on being in one. If you say you’d pass, I’ll nod and agree, but in my head, I’m thinking: "Liar, liar!"—just saying! :-P

That would be sexist! ;)
Most of us who use guns would be most worried if it was an American holding the gun.
;)
