Is this just a dating site?

It's not surprising to me that this goes on given the predominance of images featuring nakedness on this site, much of it (in my opinion) unnecessary to make a great photo. I feel uncomfortable with the number of photographers who ONLY shoot nude portraits. While I'd like to think that PP is a hidden corner for the art nude world, in reality it feels a bit seedy. But, rest assured, I have found many great models - character and otherwise - on here, so it's worth persisting. I'd work with you myself, but to be honest, Dundee is just a bit too far away.

I don't think that it is fair to judge a photographer or model on how much he/she does of one level or another, but I accept that some profiles are a little overwhelming, but everyone is entitled to photograph or model how they wish to. Also you can filter images you display in your PP settings as I do if you don't feel brave enough to view them :-)

There are some stunningly beautiful models on purpleport but even I used to wonder why they would model certain levels. Now that I am a little more experienced I can tell you that it is empowering to model some lower, higher levels, also you will get some wonderful pictures so when your beauty fades you will still have them to cherish. I wish I had done this 30 years ago :-)

Personally I have had a NSFW conversation a number of times with my husband who photographs me. When I have posted photographs of me implied topless or topless in the past on PP they get far more likes then any clothed ones, but he does not want me to display them to any photographers or models we do not know or have not met. So that's a really small number of people and a Private Album, that I would really like to display but have to respect his wishes!

You’re gonna get this on any site that connects people with pictures. Hell, Instagram’s probably worse for models—tell me I’m lying. My Friend Sharon Laird was a model for years; you wouldn’t believe the stuff she got sent on Instagram and Facebook. At least on PP, you can talk to an admin and they’ll actually take complaints seriously. For the most part, though, the creators create, and they make some epic stuff. As for the... underbelly? Yeah, we all know who they are—no faces, close-up body shots lit by IKEA lamps and they always push levels for more. But here’s the Thing: they’ll always be around. Why? Because the sad truth is... they usually pay and as long as models go to them were always gonna see this popping up from time to time.

If you have the messages contact admin

To my knowledge, the all-time WORST serial abusers produced reasonable pictures and never paid.

Yeah, there are still a few of those around, but I think many have been banned by now. The feedback system is there for exactly that purpose. Again, you’ll get this kind of thing on any platform where people connect through images and can message each other. It’s all about taking precautions to stay safe and reporting any foul play when it happens. it's a community

I think sadly some people just like talking to a model! My last casting had 15 or so applicants and 1 booked shoot...the rest just wanted to chat! X

tandi guy with camera

To expand .

In the days of film the camera might not have any film in it.

It's the bloke with no particular skill who (see my comment above) isn't there for picture making,  but because they enjoy being around models doing their jobs; letchy to varying degrees - from genuinely nice guys to borderline sex offenders.  Either pejorative of others, or self-deprecating of oneself.

This post has been locked because:

We have contacted the OP directly and can confirm that these messages did not occur on PurplePort.

Keeping your shoot discussions on PurplePort is really important because we are limited in the support we can provide for communications outside our platform. This is why we strongly recommend keeping shoot communications on PurplePort.

Thank you to everyone in our fabulous creative community who responded to reassure the OP that the behaviour they experienced is unacceptable and not tolerated on PurplePort.

As many of you mentioned, inappropriate messages should be reported to PurplePort (Admin Team) so we can take action. We also recommend blocking/ignoring whoever sent the messages.

Just to add, this short guide for new models and this due diligence guide both have lots of useful information to help models arrange photoshoots (including what to expect during shoot communications). These guides and many other resources can be found in everyone's Official welcome to PurplePort message, which you should have received from a member of our wonderful Meet & Greet (MaG) Team when you joined PurplePort.
