Shoot location help

A friend who is a full-time wheelchair user wants me to take some outdoor nudes of her. Due to the neighbours, her garden isn't an option and beaches aren't wheelchair friendly. Can any suggest a location or studio with outdoor space that might be accessible?

Berkshire, Hampshire, Surrey ideally but further afield possible

Thanks

I don't really have a suggestion for near you.

But I would have thought with outdoor locations generally (nice secluded woodland etc.) a lot is going to depend on the wheelchair, the general mobility situation (is it a powered chair, or self-powered?), and any other support needs (how far can you travel away from a car park or rest facility, practically speaking).

Perhaps if you can outline what you can without betraying medical privacy, people can help you a bit more?

Might be a bit far out but Far Forest Studio might be an option; they have outdoor locations and a purpose built waterfall! They are based in Kiddiminster, I think.

Outdoor shoot location with disabled access in Surrey? Easy, Royal common at Elstead, they’ve spent thousands making it disability friendly, you can get quite far into Thursley NNR even in a normal wheelchair without adaptations.

Would I shoot nudes there? Erm, if you don’t mind being disturbed by dog walkers (hello!), horse riders (hello again), mountain bikers, DofE teenagers, twitchers…

Fortunately general support needs are minimal so that's not an issue. Surfaces are the main issue. Short grass, firm earth or compacted gravel are OK. Slopes up to about 1 in 10 are OK. Probably up to 1km from a car park with a reasonable surface

That might be a bit too public for her 😀 but I'll check it out

Was going to suggest Eastney Naturist Beach but obviously access may be an issue, but there’s Haslemere Sun Club, http://www.sunnyacres.co.uk/ have no idea what’s it’s like but sounds accepting.

From memory access to Eastney is over shingle which is a nightmare for wheelchairs. I'm in that area on Thursday so will check it out though. I'll check them out too. Thanks

If you're both prepared to get up very early you'll probably find a lot more possibilities especially on a Sunday morning when there are less commuters or early risers.
Less need to go too far off the beaten track and you have the advantage of kinder light usually.

Bourne Woods in Farnham, Surrey? Not far from you. Has good, firm paths, even tarmac a bit. Only issue is that it’s v popular so finding a quiet spot may be hard. And it’s being used as a Ridley Scott film set currently. Or was. But might be worth scouting out.
