A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step

In any career you need to start at the bottom and work up with persistence hard work and alot of dedication, it took me 2 years of modelling learning and guidance before I began to charge.

In my day job in travel it has taken me 20 years to work up from a modern apprentice on 90 pounds a week to where I am now as a luxury travel specialist on a good salary.

You can't expect to be paid for your photography after 11 months.

Network, attend as many courses and workshops as you can, social meet ups are great for making contacts, this way I made many freinds in the industry and when I took up photography myself I have many people I can call on for tips and advice to better my work.

It may take years but you must focus on what route you want your work to go In and work work work on it, study, practise and never turn down advice or guidance from others.

As Alan said enrole on courses or find someone who is willing to mentor you and be prepared to pay out.

You have to put the work in to see results and it takes a long time.

Following on from what was mentioned about tutoring - @johnblack and @angelblack are running photography tuition - I think seeing the pics ect and getting the chance of working with an experienced model and photographer - this would be such a good idea xx
