I remember meeting Chris Cook at one of the social events for models and photographers. We got on great straight away and with Chris being a software developer too we had lots in common. PurplePort was embryonic then with just over 1,000 active members.
It wasn’t long before Chris joined the team at PP, in early 2012, part time as PP wasn’t paying anyone for their time. He was so keen, so excited by it, and I was so tired and lacking in enthusiasm that he certainly changed the pace of things. I was really grateful for his enthusiasm and his input has shaped the face of PurplePort.
Chris has impacted so much of PurplePort that it’s hard to separate the two things. He is essentially indelibly inked onto the fabric of PP. His attention to detail and hard work have relentlessly improved the service we are able to offer our customers.
So it’s with a heavy heart that I say that this week is his last at PPHQ, Chris is leaving the PP team to pastures new, which I hope will be exciting and help him achieve the success he so richly deserves.
Thank you brother, for your friendship, your guidance and wisdom, for all of the hard work you have put in, the fun times, the inevitable squabbling together, nitpicking, creativeness, ingenuity, and for helping us create and maintain such a fabulous service over such a long time.
Chris will be sorely missed here at PPHQ.
