Adult images in gadgets

I'm not seeing that? I have NSFW and ADult filtered when I'm viewing the homepage

If you have ticked to show adult images, that is exactly how it works. For many years you couldn't see them at all in widgets because of a campaign of constant whining by some members who wouldn'tuse the filter themselves.

I am guessing they are not shown on the main home page view just to offer some protection to people clicking on the bookmark on a train.

I am seeing adult images in 'popular' widget no adult images in 'recent' widget. 

Whether that's the same reason you can't block people from the popular images widget or whether it's a design feature I have no idea but suspect it is the former.

When you have show adult images selected, adult images do show on the home page in the people you follow gadget and popular images gadget

show adult images should do what it says

The filter is on by default and even in such a scenario the thumbnails are that small 

thoroughly.exposed I mentioned the previous history to explain why the site may have gone for a halfway house in setting it that way.

I was just suggesting that may be a reason for the home page because you have to be on it to change the filter settings.

At the start it used to be everywhere was filtered exactly as you set it and that was what led to all the whining from a noisy few
