Adding Image Albums to their own Album?

BigBaldTone

As the title says, not sure if able to do this, and wondered if this could be an option?

Is certainly something I would consider using, as a way of tidying up my portfolio and keeping original albums, but having said albums within their own album.

For example, I have albums by model and if that model is no longer active or just doesn't shoot anymore, as a means of making my portfolio less cluttered, I could put those albums in a "retired" album...

Just a thought, and will await the inevitable...

To check my understanding, the ability to create an album that has sub albums within it?

So in your example, you would have an album that is titled retired models, and within that you want to be able to add / move the existing albums for each model(who has now retired) that exist on your portfolio into this new album

If I have that right it seems a good option for those who want to keep their albums tidy

Like the sound of that

Hello BigBaldTone - thank you for this great suggestion!

We've passed this onto our Development Team :)

BigBaldTone In the meantime, you could add the images for the retired models to a "Retired" album in addition to staying in their per-model albums. It wouldn't be as tidy as what you're asking for, but it would be clear on each image because it would be in both albums.

Makes sense, but I can live with how it is right now - my way of differentiating is the have the "less active" or "retired" model albums at the bottom of my pile (as such).

Fingers crossed the option I have suggested comes to fruition :-)

I would certainly use such a function to sort my portfolio...

It's something that I have been wondering about myself and I would certainly make use of the feature if implemented.

I would love subfolders!

I don't want to take away from those who see benefit and value in using such a function on their own portfolios, but despite being a heavy user of albums myself I don't see how I would gain anything by using this.

By looking at my portfolio (and avoiding critique), can someone suggest a possible use that I might find for it?

I think you'll find that you've managed without it (over the years) and indeed you like some others won't find it of benefit. However it is a good no great idea, very much akin to folders on an operating system or folders for email. I always wanted to be able to group my shoots by shoots dates but not to have albums displayed for it (tags), but that was not possible/allowed. This feature would have allowed that and kept things neat and tidy.

This is one of those to each his own.
