Missing places

There's also the issue where some places have another place attached to the end e.g Leigh, Wigan.  Leigh comes under wigan council unfortunately but we are our own town quite separate from wigan and most people do not associate themselves with wigan

This post raises the issue of locations that are missing from PurplePort (and need to be added). I've just checked, and Leigh and Wigan can already be added as locations that can be added on PurplePort:

• Leigh, Wigan, United Kingdom
• Wigan, United Kingdom

My point is leigh is not in Wigan. Most websites that use address data have it as leigh United Kingdom or leigh greater Manchester

On the other side of the coin, the presence of the small village of Wales (south of Rotherham) probably does more harm than good.

Near me:

• Ash, Surrey (contrary to the Royal Mail, it is neither in Aldershot nor in Hampshire)
• Ash Vale, Surrey (ditto)

Near where I used to live:

• Melbourn, Cambs (contrary to the Royal Mail, it is neither in Royston nor in Hertfordshire)

And when typing to find them, I get prompted with places which are in entirely different parts of the world, typically with Afghanistan at the top of the list.  I don't know what the API allows, but could the UI that we get please allow us to pick a country (defaulting to our location's country) and then choose within that?
