I'll ask again - Can we see those who don't vote?

On a side note - I think it voting for your own image should be disallowed (if it hasn't already been implemented).
Or at least it should be made clear in the rules that you can vote for yourself. When I see entrants with 0 votes I wonder whether they know they can vote for themself. But if everyone did vote for themselves you might as well just have 4 votes and disallow voting for yourself, as you suggested.
I think that voting for oneself smacks of desperation.Just my opinion. Other opinions are available.
I just had a quick look and the last four winners all voted for themselves so at least I am not the only one who is in a state of 'desperation'. Most people would enter a competition to try and win and if voting for yourself is allowed why not try and increase your chance of winning? It is quite rare for the winner to be within one vote of second place, but when it is do you want to lose out to someone who voted for themself when you didn't? I have won fourteen competitions, and had more than thirty second, third and fourth places, so I don't think I am that desperate to win.

Your system obviously works for you - you've won fourteen compos. I enter two or three compos a week and I've been doing that for years and years, and I've won just one.
But to be honest, I'm not fussed. No - that's not sour grapes. I enter the compos for fun; there has never been one instance - not one - when I've thought 'my picture is the best'. Even if I had thought that, I still wouldn't have voted for it. If others think my pic is worth voting for, that's very kind of them. (Sincere thanks to anyone who has ever voted for one of my pics!) But it's not up to me to say 'mine is better than the others'.
Mind you, if the prize were a bit more than £3, I might think differently. :)

Orson Carter I brought up the voting for one's own images some time ago in a previous thread & the response I got was essentially that if you don't think your image is best then why bother entering... my gut reaction was that it doesn't matter what I think & dammit I'm British and voting for one's self just isn't cricket - it's the sort of thing that sneaky politicians do! Then I realised that in my case it makes absolutely no difference whatsoever because I'm rarely even in the top twenty

Same here. I hope people who vote for themselves hang their head in shame. Badly done, badly done.

Totally agree. I can't believe the top photographers on here actually do it. It would never even cross my mind to do it.

Andy McG It seems the vast majority of suggestions on here, good or bad, just get ignored or rejected unfortunately.
Dam shame. I know we don't pay much to be members, but it would be nice if our opinion mattered :(
We did get image size increased a bit I guess. I can't think of any other changes I've noticed.

Protection of new models from the initial flood of chancers.
Explicit SFW competitions introduced.
The period of entry to competitions increased.
A search for and eventual finding of a bug in old code which affected some of us and made paging through pictures work badly.
Just off the top of my head.

I think the phrase here is "you do you". I've explained (a couple of weeks ago, in this thread) my thinking. By all means avoid voting for your own image if that's how you feel, but please don't presume to judge others for thinking differently.

So yesterday 20% of people didn't vote and I lost 40% of my vote so no idea how those did. It is not just those not voting who are getting penalised!
Come on PurplePort show us the vote total for people who are disqualified. Can't be hard surely.

Yippee, I have just won another one, in the 'Night' competition, that's my !5th, and I voted for myself!!! It was close, with only one vote between me and second place, but he voted for himself too, so it wasn't down to me voting for myself in 'desperation' that I won. I still cannot understand what the original poster's obsession is with knowing who didn't vote. That's the rules and who really cares who didn't vote? I focus my energy on choosing my entries carefully to try and win, I don't waste my time worrying about who did not vote in previous competitions.

I think the problem here is that the OP has fallen into the trap of conflating two different things:
- Knowing how well the images they voted for did, as part of seeing a more complete picture of how closely their voting choices align with the choices of other voters.
This information would help influence voting choices in the future for those who are aiming to vote for the top 3. - Knowing whose entries the disqualified ones were.
I don't see any positives associated with this, only negatives with words like "wasted" and "shame".

New low today. Three of those I voted for were disqualified. So a 60% wasted vote :(
