Saturday 4th January - Photographic Event - Antwerp Mansion (Manchester) Photographer’s bring own model of their choice. 

There are places left on what is going to be an absolutely spectacular event (not to be missed!) On Saturday 4th January at Antwerp mansion in Manchester.  

Price

Just £85 per photographer for the full day or £42.50 for half a day. (Sharing with another photographer is also an option to cut down cost) A 50% deposit is required to hold your place.

Mansion and photographic sets info

Why not come along and shoot a full day at this beautiful Victorian mansion in Rusholme, built in 1840, which was then extended with a grande ballroom and snooker hall in 1922. Since 2009 it was notorious for becoming a home for much of the new musical and artistic talent of Manchester.

It still maintains its natural gothic state and has also undergone some changes which it still continues to do so today, now mostly for creative art purposes. This amazing venue has a lot of character and ideal for a mind blowing photographic experience suited to covering all genres from Avante Garde, Fashion, Boudior and art nude.

So, photographers far and wide, if you are looking to shoot crazy wild hair and makeup, luscious gowns/dresses, (or even casual) boudoir and beautiful art nudes, then this is the ideal location for you!

We can only take a maximum of 8 photographers in be building at any one time, all of who can choose their own model to bring along with them.

If you do not have your own lighting, then Antwerp mansion provides some photography lights and coloured lighting that can be placed where required, and there is also club lighting/strobes available in the gig room. (Power sockets available in every room) They also have various props available on request although myself and the proprietress have run through some set design ideas per room and have put together some thosd designs in most of the rooms available to use.

There are 3 rooms situated on the ground floor on entering. One has beautiful amounts of natural light flooding in through one of its huge windows and double doors, and contains a piano and old fireplace. The gig room is very dark (all the walls and ceilings painted black) so this is ideal for low key imagery and special effects. The stage area will have LED hoop lights available and LED candles placed on tables, with a chair and mirror (optional)

The bar room next door will have lit up bottles suspended in various heights against the back wall of the bar. The bar will also have fairy lights trailing across but these can be unclipped and removed.

The outdoor areas from here can also be utilised.

Next up we have the original grand spiralled staircase which has light cascading down the stairs from the domed glass roof above. The walls also have some beautiful eye popping art work trailing right the way up to the top. All done by the super talented photographer John Mason.

Upstairs is a grand ballroom with high ceiling and again good natural light. We will be rigging up some straps for aerial arts such as silks and hoops. The straps will stay in place and hoops and silks available upon request.

Next to the ballroom is a heavily graffitied row of toilets so ideal for those super grungy shots if you so wish.

The landing outside has good natural light from one window and has a wooden floor and brown leather couch, along with a white dresser on the opposite end decorated in ivy.

At the bottom of the landing area, there is a small room which was originally a bedroom. It has dark red walls, wooden floor, a fireplace and two windows. We are actually going all Moroccan with this one, putting in a bed with cushions and various coloured draped silks!

The mansion also has a huge cellar and old servants kitchen with a huge stone table in the centre.

We will be meeting at 9:30a.m to give time to familiarise yourselves with the house and gather some creative ideas together, wrapping up at 5:30pm In order to allow time to pack up and leave the property by 6pm. Refreshments will also be available.

Ideally, photographers and models should spend up to roughly an hour in their chosen area to allow everyone to rotate and make full use of other areas around the property.

Fire breathing, flames/smoke bombs are permitted on site. Please inform us if you are wanting to use these, or the straps in the ballroom for aerial arts.
