Casting Overview - Marcus Mantino Studios casting call

Resident photographer Marcus Mantino, casting professional and experienced models for multiple studio shoots blending fashion, artistic nude and theme based photography.  

The goal of the shoots will be to create stunning works of art, working collaboratively bringing each of our ideas together, the energy we create will be key to the success of the final outcome, I am a relaxed, confident and straightforward photographer.  I am not trying to target a particular commercial style, my end goal is the creation of works of art, but i am open to creative proposals based on your own ideas or if you want to creative specific commercial style then i can consider your proposal.  See my PP profile, Instagram or website at www.mantino.com to get an idea of the style of work that is created from these shoots.  I am shooting a variety of film based themes right now including Sci-Fi and post apocalyptic and will have other series coming later.  We may do one themed set during the day out of the three main sets we will aim to complete.  If time permits we will do a few more quick sets as well.  Unless otherwise planned with you separately we will adapt what we do to suit your look styling outfits and concepts together as we work.  You are encouraged to contribute in this creative process and tell me if you don't think something works, I respect all input.

Shoots to take place at Mantino Studios, a dedicated 1500 sf commercial studio space which features two separates studio spaces including a permanent water studio installation with a 9 square metre water base and rain system, as well as a standard Colorama studio, a 500sf

Ideally you would work to an art nude level to allow flexibility in terms of what we can create, see my site at www.mantino.com to understand how I represent this level of work. Please let me know the level you are happy to work to and we can discuss and agree accordingly. I can tailor a specific shoot to suit your specified levels as required.

What to put in your response to this casting

1: Please provide your rate for a full day shoot (10am-6pm).

2: Confirm that you are happy with all details of this casting.  (If there is anything that doesn't work for you please let me know and we can discuss, I am very flexible and can agree separately points that work to your requirements.)

3: Your location

4: Your estimated travel costs, including hotel costs if the shoot requires you to stay locally.  (Only applies if you require costs to be covered in addition to the modelling fee)

5: Your day rate to cover the 10am-6pm hours and also your hourly rate for reference.

6: Anything that is significantly different about yourself from your current profile stats and images.

7: Anything else that would be important or interesting for me to know in relation to the shoot.

8: Shoots are full day 10am - 6pm with lunch and coffee breaks. If distance is limiting we can discuss a half day shoot or in certain circumstances if a full day is essential with travel needing to take place the day before and after the shoot then hotel accommodation will also be covered by myself, this will need to be agreed separately.

9: your preferred and primary method of communication, for example, whats app, PP, instagram messenger, Facebook Messenger, phone or text.

Shoot Requirements & Information

You and your gear :

Models expected to have a well stocked model bag with a variety of shoes, several matching sets of underwear, a selection of high heel shoes and is free to bring items that they would like to propose for use on the shoot. I also have a very expensive collection of custom made design pieces, jewelry and a good selection of clothing including about 40 pairs of shoes, heels and boots.

You will be expected to do your own makeup and hair and should ensure you bring a good selection of makeup to allow for makeup application to suit different styles, ie different shades of lipstick, eyeliner, etc. If you are not comfortable with this then let me know and we can separately agree to arrange an MUA or MUA and hair stylist.

Nails both hands and feet must be clear and in good condition please. If you have nail extensions that cannot be removed for the shoot then please ensure you bring your nail glue(if one falls of and can’t be re-applied this will seriously affect the outcome of the shoot)

Model to wear loose clothing during travel to the shoot to avoid marks from jeans or tight fitting bras.

If you have drastically changed anything about yourself from the pictures that you are using to represent yourself then please inform me of this well in advance and send updated pictures before any booking is made. If you have for example put on significant weight or completely changed your hair, then this may result in the shoot being a failure if clothes do not fit or pre production styling plans do not match your new hair style. I would have to work to try and salvage something from the day and a reduction in fee would be expected.

Travel :

Travel will be paid once receipts for travel are provided and the equivalent return travel payments will be included in the pay for elements of a journey that can’t be purchased as a return journey, ie taxi.  My accounts department cannot authorize payments without receipts.

Please ensure you have checked my studio location and looked into the feasibility of travel before applying. My studio is in Maidstone in Kent, UK.

Food & Drink :

You are welcome to bring your own supplies or i can provide food and drink for the day.  Let me know in advance of the shoot your preference for a sandwich type or similar lunch snack and I will buy in advance.

We have a dolche gusto coffee machine and fresh filtered water machine that is available to use as much as you like throughout the day (within reason! 10 coffee breaks per day is not within reason!!)

If you need anything in particular during the shoot, cigarettes, snacks, food, drink, etc,  I have assistants available who I can send to the local shop or supermarket for you.

Images :

A model release will need to be signed at the end of the shoot before any payment can be made. Please request in advance if you want to have time to read before the shoot.

I may send select fully retouched images from the shoot to the model and grant permission for use in their own portfolios and social media. Images must be kept in the original form, not edited in any way including cropping and the Mantino watermark must be kept in place. Please remember this is a paid shoot and I do not expect to be chased for images, this is not TFP.  If however you would like more input into this process and agreed number of pictures then you can request that we do a TFP only shoot or half pay/half TFP. 

If permission is given to use my images when posting on social media do not overlay icons, graphics, etc on the images, for example on Instagram story!  Keep them as supplied and only use images i send you, do not take them from my site or copy form my social media posts.

Images are not to be sold or published and remain the property of Marcus Mantino. If you are contacted by company looking to purchase or publish please refer them to me.

Communication :

I will require a contact mobile number in order to secure a booking and expect to receive prompt and professional communication as part of the planning process, date planning and communication the day before and day of the shoot.

If you are applying to this casting through Purple Port then please understand that I received a very large number of applications to my castings and I can’t reply to everyone.  Please feel free to re-apply when I post new castings, availability and requirements change so dont worry if you have applied on previous castings without response.

And for the blunt but essential points that need making!

If you know that you are unreliable! please do not apply, I dont want my time being wasted.  I work with good and reliable models multiple times but if you are a no show there will be no second chance, sorry to be blunt but time is valuable and a lot of planning and money goes into pre-production of my shoots.

If we set a date for a shoot this means it’s 100% confirmed to happen. If you decide to contact me for an update at a random time, like 4 weeks before the shoot or at 10 o’clock at night the day before the shoots due to take place and I don’t reply instantly. PLEASE don’t pannick and assume that it’s not happening. I may be on holiday a month before and taking a break from my phone and I will be sleeping at 10pm the day before a shoot! Also please message by text or what’s app or phone for any type of confirmation, don’t send email through one of the multiple types of communication as there be a delay in response when you need a quick answer.
