Portrait swap - get some professional "portrait of the artist" photos for your website!

Andrew Clifton is looking for a photographer to fill this collaboration casting. It's based around Bradford-on-Avon, UK Added 1552651547.

This casting is closed.

Hi there,

Like many photographers, I'm not all that keen on having my own picture taken. I have very few photos of myself that look any good...  And none of them are recent!

On a professional photography website, however, it's a really good idea to have some good quality photos of the photographer, on your "about me" page.  People like to know who they're hiring and feel more comfortable getting in touch, if they get to see your face, in advance!

Of course, you can put your camera on a tripod and set a timer for a self-portrait - but this can be very difficult to get right.   In my experience, the results never seem to look as good as portraits I take myself, of models or paying clients... Perhaps because in this case, I only press the shutter when I can see for myself that the composition, pose and facial expression look good.

I imagine there are plenty of other photographers out there who have the same problem...

So, what I'd like to propose, very simply, is a portrait swap.

You take some professional quality portraits of me - and I'll return the favour.   I'm happy to exchange RAW files if you'd like the option of doing your own processing/editing - but if you like, I'll edit and retouch a set of images for you in Photoshop, just as I would for a paying client.

There are several different ways this could be done, of course.   You might simply be looking for a classic headshot portrait - or more of an environmental portraiture approach, in your studio surrounded by your gear and holding your camera... Or maybe even a few "behind the scenes" candid-style shots during a photo shoot, when you're working with a model or client (with their permission, of course!).  I'm open to all or any of these ideas.

As far as location is concerned, I'm based in a little place called Murhill, about 5 miles outside Bath (and 2 miles from Bradford-on-Avon).  I'm open to travelling up to 30 miles or so - basically, anywhere within 30 mile radius of Bath, such as Bristol, Swindon, Salisbury, etc. etc.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Best regards,

Andrew
