Returning to Cork for the last time for this series of images.

I’m opening up a total of 10 spaces for Men that wish to participate. The day will be divided into a male only session and a female only session.

I’ve rented a space again in the city and will be repacking my studio up to bring it down. Given the time restrictions places are very limited and will have to be capped at 30. Please send a direct message through DM to confirm a place at the shoot.

#Thisisnotconsent is a growing movement based around a barrister having said in a recent rape trial, in which the man was found not guilty, asking a jury to consider the fact that the woman was wearing a thong.

....“Does the evidence out-rule the possibility that she was attracted to the defendant and was open to meeting someone and being with someone? You have to look at the way she was dressed. She was wearing a thong with a lace front,”the barrister told the jury, which later acquitted the man....

I, as a man, am so angry that this was even suggested as idea that it could be considered as consent to sex. Consent is Black and White, no grey areas. Yes or No. Inability to indicate either of those words is always a NO.

Inspired by Cork woman Jena Keating I'm looking for women to shoot a project around this incredibly important message. I'm going to shoot studio based portraits, full body where the subject is wearing their underwear, standing defiantly, proudly on a white background and with strength to highlight this cause. Subjects can hold a hand written sign with the phrase 'This Is Not Consent' written on it. Or have it written on their body.

I will be shooting this on B&W Film for two reasons. The first being that as far as I'm concerned. Consent is a black and white issue, zero grey areas. And the second being that Film is archivable, it lasts. It's been around for over 150years and so should this message.

I have more faith in educating and informing people as human beings than I do in the changing of the legal system to protect those who have already suffered.
