Mood Boards at J9 Studios

If you're looking to add some emotion/mood shots to your acting portfolio, then J9 Studios is here to help.

Whether you have a mood board with a particular role in mind, or just want to create a variety of emotions - we'll help capture these for you and build one of these collages. We can build a mood board with as many or as few images in as you like, but 2x2s, 3x3s, 4x4s are common numbers to aim for. 

PRICING

This is a combination of how many hours you spend at the studio with us (see main port), combined with how many photos you want. Please see the pricing listed on the Portfolio Builder casting if you want some of the photos we take together processed up separately to the collage. For all collage photos we provide three options:

• Option A - Collage processing (see example above); £10 per photo
• Option B - A copy of all JPEGs straight from camera (i.e. no additional processing) - you create your own collage; £30

Example: if you hired the studio for 1 hour (£25), and you wanted a 3x3 mood board with Option A quality photos (£90), it would cost you £115.

FAQs

Q. Why choose Option A?
A. Each photo is professionally retouched to a level suitable for these types of collages (see above).

Q. Why choose Option B?
A. We take the photos, and just pass you the JPEGs to create your own mood board. A cheap option if you have the software to do this.

Q. How long will the photoshoot take? How long should I book for?
A. Unlike a normal photoshoot, the background and lighting is kept simple - after all, we just want to capture you pulling various expressions, and so we should be able to do this within an hour. If you want to try different clothing you can, but we'll ask you to send us some selfies of outfits beforehand and suggest what we feel would work best.

Q. How do I choose what photos to buy?
A. Shortly after the photoshoot we’ll send you a contact sheet of all the images we took, so that you can decide which you'd like to purchase for the mood board. Please note the photos here will be small thumbnails and heavily watermarked; the mood board you purchase with be a large Hi-Res image with no watermarking.

Q. How long will I need to wait to receive my purchased images?
A. If you choose Options B, bring along a USB (16 GB or higher) and you can take the photos home with you, or we can simply send you a link to them. If you choose Option A, expect to wait up to 2-4 days, depending on how many photos you choose.

Q. Who owns the copyright of the photos I buy?
A. You do. Please note that J9 Studios will retain copyright of everything you do not buy, and we reserve the right to use them (you will be credited). If you do not want us to use any photos from the shoot, we charge an exclusivity fee of £10, and will wipe all images from our HD once you have everything you bought.

Q. Do you offer discounts to unemployed or students?
A. 10% upon proof.

Q. Any Special Deals?
A. Buy 4x4 mood board with Option A photos, and we'll bundle in ALL the unpurchased JPEGs for free!!

Q. Can I bring along a chaperone?
A. Absolutely.

Q. I don't drive, is the studio easy to get to?
A. Ashchurch railway station is a 5 minute walk away, and we're happy to collect you from there or Cheltenham railway station.

PAYMENT

The full studio time is required on the day before the photoshoot starts, with the rest due after you have chosen which photos to buy.

There are no refunds given on Option A, but we will work with you to get you the images you want. All photos in the collage above were taken and processed by Jay, and is a snapshot of the high quality we deliver.

AVAILABILITY

Please check our calendar to see when the studio is free - but unless booked we can do most times from 8am until Midnight. Ideally we would suggest booking at least a week in advance so that we can tailor the shoot to your needs.
