Jewellery can transport your images to a whole new level, and really take your portraits up a notch. It can pack a punch and be full-on large impact pieces or it can be small and sweet, subtly enhancing your shot. Either way, jewellery can add a fun, new dimension to your photos, and it's definitely something to consider adding.

Some things to keep in mind when photographing jewellery on a model:

Have a strong idea of your target lifestyle feeling for your image; is it proud self-confidence, is it youthful, playful, sexy? Discuss in your briefing with the client/model or just yourself what kind of mood you'd like to convey.
Relevant clothing choices. Do they work with the style/colours of the jewellery or mood of the photoshoot?
Sensible lighting choices. Does it complement or distract from your jewellery?
Makeup and styling decisions. Is a certain style appropriate? Does it elevate or diminish your overall look and feel?
Shoot various formats, various crops, don't just shoot portrait or landscape. Think about the potential uses of your shots, is it magazine or poster appropriate?
