Booked a last minute shoot here, what a fantastic location, a real hidden gem! There are literally *so* many areas to shoot in, you'd need a full day even to scratch the surface.

About 4 floors of urbex bliss, ranging from factory floors to management offices with that post-apocalyptic, cables hanging from ceiling, smashed windows vibe.

There's a changing area with mirrors and a small heater, but bring blankets or jackets to wrap up in as it's 100% natural light and no other heating. There is power available in areas so bring extensions if you wanted to use any lighting, but we caught the sunlight and it looked absolutely phenomenal.

Highly recommended to other models and photographers, I'll certainly be booking again for a half or full day - if you're a model that doesn't mind the cold then get in touch and let's explore together!!

An interesting location, with lots of natural light and plenty of shooting space including a private courtyard. Multiple rooms with thousands of different props.

A true playground for models and photographers alike.

I hope to be hired to work here again.

I’ve had the pleasure of shooting at the XFactory a few times now and forgot to leave a reference until now (sorry). The studio is such a vast area of creative urbex heaven with so many different areas to shoot in that even after my 3 visits there I have still not shot in half of the areas I would like to. There are ample props on the top floor of the studio including chairs, beds, vintage suitcases, dressing tables and even wardrobes but there is still plenty of untouched space for that authentic urbex feel. I will definitely be shooting at the xfactory again in the near future.

An adventure playground for photographers who like dereliction. I shot with Misuzu for two hours and only used a tiny fraction of the space & props available.

Spread across numerous floors, levels and rooms from closet size to factory areas. Copious large windows on 3 different aspects, give natural light & shade options from most angles.

I'll definitely be back, there's lots more to explore (& if you book Misuzu you get you're own tour guide). Superb space.

I’ve worked at the X factory a couple of times now and I can definitely recommend it. The large space and natural light is beautiful. It has so many unique features, such as a outdoor roof area. The possibilities at the studio are endless and a great place to do that derilict themed shoot without getting arrested or running from security guards.

Highly recommended : )

Thanks guys!

Recently I have worked at the X factory on two occasions

This studio offers the photographer a novel opportunity to

shoot derelict in a controlled way

The background and natural light offer great opportunities

The owner is also very helpful supplying props that you need to create

the correct sets

I hired out the X Factory today for a couple of Hours just to get a feel for the place. I met Shelly (Kevin) bang on time and was greeted to an introductory tour of the premises. He is a lovely talkative guy with an obvious passion for what he is doing, he even gave me a hand with some of my equipment. The X Factory is a creative's paradise with thousands of square feet of shooting space, much of it bathed in beautiful, natural light. I get the distinct feeling that I will becoming very familiar with the X Factory over the coming Months as it is an almost peerless 'Urbex' style studio. Bravo Shelly! Keep up the good work. Absolutely highly recommended!! 10/10.

If you are looking for a "derelict" backdrop, then look no further! And you don't have to scramble through fences or keep looking over you shoulder :-) And there's even electricity! X factory is just amazing for those shoots where you need something different. And Kevin is there to assist in any way he can - he even brought some props for our shoot! :-) Thanks, Kevin, I am sure I'll be in touch to shoot there again soon :-)

HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

JMW - Reflection of You

Had a shoot at the X Factory over the weekend. This studio is great with loads of shooting opportunities in every direction.

I found the areas varied and managed to get the shots I wanted in my time there.

I now have loads of other ideas for shoots at this studio so I do not think it will be long before I am back.

Highly Recommended for Urbex style shots. +++

Shot at the X Factory for 6 hours on Sunday with a fantastic model Misuzu. Even with 6 hours we didn't get to shoot in all of the areas I had planned to. There is just so much you can do there you will never run out of ideas. There is plenty of natural light that is ever changing throughout the day so even if you have shot in one room you can go back later and shoot again when the light has changed. There are areas you can shoot outdoors also.

As others have said it is very authentic ( dirty ) but that adds to the character of the place.

Definitely be returning to shoot again and can recommend it to others.

The X-Factory is an amazing location, consisting of old offices, storage areas, staircases and large roof for open air shots. Abandoned buildings these days are rarely accessible, so it's great to be able to use some and not get thrown out! I had loads of ideas; unfortunately our shoot was cut short due to the model having a family crisis that required us to finish early. However, the owner was most understanding about having to return early to lock up. I'd love to return and shoot again; every room opens up more ideas.

This studio is in an old factory, with access to many large delipidated rooms.

The natural light in the two big upstairs rooms is excellent. Through out the building are many items left over from the old pottery factory with can be used as props and backgrounds.

This site is idea for Urbex Art Nude shoots.

This was my first time at the X Factory and I'm already arranging a return visit! The studio is a fantastic inspirational place to shoot from and there were so many places to make use of.

I was well taken care of with a room for my use and tea/coffee facilities, and a tour of the studio at the start of the day! Highly, highly recommended by me- I will definitely be back!

On looking for a somewhere to shoot in the Stoke area, I came across this the X Factory, and what a fantastic find it was. As a urbex space, it is what it is, with endless areas and features to shoot in, plus the most amazing light that floods in through many of the large windows.

Also arranging a date and time with was no problem too.

My guess is I will be back for sure. Many thanks.

Shot again today at the X Factory again with Misuzu. The weather outside was overcast for most of the morning but we always had enough light. The studio has so many different areas and we shot in some different rooms, still more for another day. Just love the quality of the light and look forward to coming back.

Had a shoot at the X Factory today with Misuzu as a model. What a fantastic venue - the light is wonderful and the opportunities for shots are boundless.

It is early days and the facilities are basic but the studio is all the better for that. We only managed to use a small part of the space so a return visit is essential
