Yesterday I had my second remote shoot with Mike at TheUncommonStudio.

A lovely opportunity to be able to shoot together again and where he was more familiar with the studio space. This meant he was able to explore more areas to shoot this time, I liked that. I was modelling in the favorite corner, on the modelling table (different angles and even gradients he chose this time using the adjustable legs)

Black Perspex box shot with different lighting, by the window using the natural light opportunity and then the floor for some creative shots.

Mike directs well which is even more important when shooting remotely but he also gives time for free flowing poses.

We plan to work together remotely again on another Shibari Shoot..I cannot wait!

It was again a real pleasure to host a second remote shoot for Mike Rhys this weekend.

Great seeing him and resident model Sadie using more of the studio to shoot. Assisting with Lighting and the camera angles was Johnny Boom, he was kindly on hand and gave opportunities to switch from studio lighting to natural light easily.

We look forward to hosting the next Shibari Remote Shoot with you soon Mike.

It was a pleasure to host Professional photographer Mike and resident model Sadie's, 6 hour Remote shoot this weekend. Shooting from Hamburg to the UK.

Erotica and Fetish was shot alongside a special 3 hour remote shibari shoot by Ropist and Studio owner Johnny Boom. Everything ran smoothly throughout, connections, equipment and ideas!

Mike enjoyed using the clean white corners of the studio to shoot his excellent creative ideas. The oak floor, designer black chair and of course our modelling table were all incorporated throughout too.

We would not hesitate to connect with Mike again and welcome him in person sometime soon.

6 hours remote shooting with Mike just flew by...you know how the saying goes...time flies when your having fun!

Patience and clear direction are paramount to a successful remote shoot..Mike had all these qualities and made the whole shoot a success!

The first 3 hours we shot Erotica and Fetish and the second part of the remote we were joined by Artistic Ropist Johnny Boom for a special Shibari Remote session. This opportunity is unique to The Uncommon Studio, so very exciting!.

Wow is all I can say and the images will do the talking..

Where to start? :)

Mike is an incredible photographer, who has a great idea of what he wants to create and I'm thrilled that I got to shoot my first real set of suggestive themes.

The shoot was a blast from start to finish and 4 hours flew by.

We're already in talks of shoot two and I can't wait! .

Pandemic? Pah! Doesn’t stop me going to Germany to work with awesome industry friends. :D (Remotely that is!) What a joy it was to work with Mike again after what feels like ages purely because of the various lockdowns around the world. Our usual habit is for either Mike to make trips to the UK for little photo tours/events where our paths often cross - or me to jet across to Hamburg. This was a perfect solution for us to make fabulous images once more - whilst remaining totally safe in the process. ❤️

As always: Mike is a man of clear visual talent and knows exactly what he likes to achieve when he shoots through genres of artistic nude and beautifully done/tasteful erotic. :) We discussed things beforehand to pin-down what we could achieve with this new way of working - and even on the day we continued to bounce off each other and set the scene for several INSANE sets! Even though Mike wasn’t physically in the room shooting this time - it didn’t prevent his ingenious eye from analysing the set/the/light/the pose possibilities and contributing to the shoot in the prolific ways that he usually does! Be it to move the lights carefully as I moved to give a nice input of shadow and light across the body, or see winning camera angles without actually being there. I think shooting remotely definitely brings a photographers creative skill and management of the technicalities to life - enhancing just how a particular photographer on-board a shoot makes the magic happen! 🌟

We did half at my home (where Mike has shot before) and half at a newer studio/office building that I have access to. Mikes patience was amazing as it meant I had to obviously pack all the gear up as fast as I could and then take the few minutes drive to the office - and re-assemble. Sooooo worth it though: classic art nude shapes using industrial props! We seem to like adding fun bits of something into art nude sets like this though - I recall attacking a chair once in Mike’s own studio making shapes... This time it was cable drums! We’re pretty expert at this now. :P Every moment of the four hours we did was just productive as ever - to the point where we actually ran out of time for some other ideas we wanted to do! But that does tend to happen working with Mike. :D

On top of everything else - he’s a diamond of a person! We go way back shooting now, and it’s always a joy to fix something up: whether remotely like this most recent meet-up, or clambering over the Scottish mountains. :) It’s always rock-and-roll, lots of fun, filled with chatter putting the world to rights and a good dose of laughter too! It was nice to also give his lovely wife Claudia a “virtual” hug just before signing off Zoom! Roll on when we can do real hugs again - but for now - thank you remote shooting for allowing me to stay connected to awesome people. :)

A respectful and wonderfully innovative photographer - highly recommended for the 6 millionth time! :P

Mike was truly a pleasure to work with. We did a remote/tethered long distance shoot together, and I would definetely work with him again. He knows exactly was he is looking for in his photos, and was very polite and respectful, and we got some great results from our photoshoot. I hope to have the chance to work with him in person in the future.

We had a shoot weekend planned for late October but decided to er on the side of caution and reschedule it forward - so glad we did!

From the get go we really clicked which meant we got down to business, creating magic straight away! The levels we focused on were quite wide ranging but we communicated every step of the way. Mike was really diligent in checking in advance of each set to see how I was feeling which really makes a difference on a shoot (even when levels are agreed).

We really created some of the most wonderful shoots and I have no doubt that I will be back soon because Hamburg is gorgeous, Mike is a gent and it was all a little dream!

I had my first shoot with Mike yesterday on my recent Germany tour with a stop in Hamburg. Pre shoot communication was very smooth and clear. Mike is a multitalented photographer who clearly has got a lot of experience in a plentitude of photographic genres. Hi studio is very spacious and professional. We worked a full day but the shoot was pretty relaxed and there was time for lunch and pleasant conversation. I'd love to shoot with Mike again anytime!

Mike booked a remote shoot with me, sent a mood board with a variety of ideas, which I was able to plan how we would work around the studio. Mike very easily adapted to controlling the camera settings tethereing, shooting from Germany he was still able to achieve several different styles from studio lit to natural light, directing me, suggesting outfits and poses. A slower shoot than he is used to, however I am grateful that he trusted me to shoot remotely. He knows his lighting techniques and styles to shoot. With a good portfolio, creative ideas and easy personality, I hope one day we will work in Hamburg together.

I had the pleasure of working with Mike as part of a duo shoot with Alana IV Ray in a hotel in Epsom.

Mike is a master of erotic photography, and understands it's all about light, angles & expression, not necessarily how explicit the shots are.

His photographic storytelling is spot on and I thoroughly enjoyed working with him & bouncing ideas around!

The hotel room was small, but sometimes I think this proves even better results as it forces creativity, especially with two models. The camera was tethered his laptop so we could see each shot clearly as it was taken.. awesome to stop every now & then to review.. it really makes for wonderful teamwork and the photos I saw on the laptop are stunning!

Mike is an interesting, kind, professional & respectful character and it was great to chat with him after the shoot too about all sorts of stuff — including breadmaking!

It would be an absolute honour to work with you again, Mike - thank you, my recommendation couldn't be higher :)

I have had two great shoots with Mike.

First we shot portraits and fashion out on location around the greenery/parks and also found a nice indoor location to shoot. Mike is really lovely and I LOVE his red hat! We stopped for a coffee before mike went to his next shoot which was really nice.

We later shot together with Chiara Elisabetta, setting up a backdrop in a hotel. We really made it work! And from the look of the BOC we got some incredible shots. We shot fashion, art nude and boudoir. I’m so excited to see the final results from this shoot with Mike. He is great with angles, composition and where to crop an image. The lighting we set up gave stunning shadows and depth to the images. I’m really looking forward to shooting with Mike again in April.

I would recommend Mike 100%!

I have worked with Mike twice now and this time was fantastic! The first time was fab too but I always feel subsequent shoots after the first are always so much more relaxed and the images you get always seem to be better too.

This time I worked with Mike on a duo shoot with Bex White and it was amazing! We got some stunning images, which Mike was showing to us both as we went along.

He is professional and respectful throughout the shoot and is relaxed and very easy to work with!

I would highly recommend working Mike and I would jump at the opportunity to work with him again!

I had another great shoot with Mike last week - this time an all day shoot at my home. Mike is a truly wonderful photographer, with a fantastic style that I really enjoy being a part of. He shoots many levels of imagery, but always retains class and elegance.

The shoot was so relaxed, yet we achieved many, many great images - just the best balance!

We spent half the day one to one and the second half of the shoot with model Lottie21. The whole day was a pleasure, and absolutely flew by!

This time he booked myself and UK cute girl for duo work and we both stayed in the comfy studio.

He made sure we were both well fed, warm and comfortable and we shot plenty of fun and creative sets, each one different from the last.
