Hi there,

I've been pointing a camera at people for a few years now, squeezing in a handful of shoots every year as funds allow.  The work I present on PP is a hobby and creative outlet for me to learn and improve, though I do occasionally take commissions shooting live events, gigs, theatre, actor head-shots and promotional material.

I used to be a touring lighting designer for theatre, dance and music gigs, which means I have a good understanding of performance, lighting angles and effects, which helps when exploring how to convey the mood and atmosphere of raw performances in my live work.

The arrangements of shoots for me are about mutual respect and good communication.  For anyone I shoot with, your comfort and safety are paramount, and I will ALWAYS respect your personal space, stated levels and rates (I have no interest in pushing levels or haggling as I feel it devalues what we're offering each other).  Shoots are always creative collaborations in my view, whether paid or TFP.  I encourage the sharing of ideas for things we agree are appropriate and interesting for both of us, and where possible will be discussed and agreed beforehand.  Also, I strongly feel that open, honest and consistent communication is very important, in order to both ensure we're clear about what we want to achieve with a shoot, and to avoid misunderstandings.

For most of my non-commissioned shoots I'll often offer models a few images to use in social media for free, if they wish.  However, they must not be further edited in any way, and may not be sold or displayed behind a paywall (e.g. OnlyFans).

I hope you enjoy having a gander as I continue to learn and expand the portfolio.  I only do a handful of shoots each year due to limited availability of time and funds (as with most of us hobbyists), but if you like my work and approach, and would like to see if we can come up with something interesting, feel free to drop a message.
