Dippers are members of the genus Cinclus in the bird family Cinclidae, so-called because of their bobbing or dipping movements. They are unique among passerines for their ability to dive and swim underwater. I have only seen them twice whilst traveling around in the countryside the first time it was impossible to get a shot this time i wedged myself into the rocks and waited for its return and got some stunning shots. Note this was taken in the wilds of the countryside not in a hide... infact i saw two of them
