I am an advanced amateur photographer who has many years experience of image making in different areas and places around the world.  From fluffy baby penguins in the Antarctic via some pretty yuk places in both Afghan and Iraq to the high mountains in Norway.  From weddings, portraits, family to nudes and progressive.  I got into photography having brought a Cannon and found I didn't know how it worked.  Jump forward two years and I had a Diploma in Photography and was doing part time work at weddings.  

I managed to get a local contact at a school and did the usual school images for a couple of years which was an experience as was taking images of babies and animals.   I moved away from that field asap !  I went on to sports, horse trials, car races, bikes and then military stuff.  I am now semi retired and take images when I am out and about.  A camera is always in my gear but I still miss the odd great image.  I saw three kingfishers on a branch and by the time I was ready they had gone - so had my chance of being on the BBC Calendar IMHO (LOL).

I am very easy going. I like to give those I am working with a  relaxing time and at the end I usually arrange for the model to get a copy of my work.  I do not publish any of my images but those who have modeled for me have used my images quite regularly.  That, I feel is a compliment.
