I've just come across a wonderful opportunity to shoot at a really well-equipped studio in Hitchin, Hertfordshire (a 40 minute drive from Milton Keynes), which has inspiring sets and backdrops for 2-3 hour shoots, each involving two glamorous but opposing alter-egos!
The Elegant Parisian Lady
Harking back to La Belle Epoque, the elegant Parisian lady remembers a time when the streets of Paris were filled with the sights and sounds of another era, when women wore more lingerie than today's popstars wear outerwear, and when the feminine form was celebrated as the ultimate idyll of beauty.
I love this elegant vintage Parisian studio set, and as you can tell, it has really fired up my imagination! I can visualise elegant retro lingerie, attaching stockings to suspenders and applying makeup at the dressing table, standing nude by the window to gaze dreamily at the Eiffel Tower, perhaps remembering a romantic encounter in Paris many years ago, with a light wrap around my shoulders to catch the night breeze....
The Steampunk Biker Bad Girl
This empowered woman hails from a not-too-distant future, when the earth has sunk into a dog-eat-dog apocalyptic dystopia and only the bad-ass survive. She is a lone wolf who can outrun anyone on her best friend, her bike, and breaks heads and hearts daily with abandon. Her world is one of immediate sensation and survival and she lives only for the exciting, adrenaline-pumping moment.
If this description reminds you a little of Lara Croft, you'll be delighted to see that the studio has a Tomb Raider bike, based on the film!
There is also this wonderfully unique steampunk bike, with a skull instead of a headlight! I have a black gloss PVC biker jacket and knee-high patent leather boots that would look sooo good with this!!
